The
Dominican
Life
Center
Anyone who
has visited the Dominican Life Center knows it's no ordinary place. With
an emphasis on life and the dignity of each resident, this continuum
of care for the Adrian Dominican Sisters provides a holistic environment
for Congregation members to live out their retirement years in community
with one another.
The
DLC is home to more than 260 sisters who live within the various levels
of the continuum which includes independent, supported and assisted living,
and intermediate and skilled care. Each resident is encouraged to be independent
for as long as possible, and receives care designed to promote her dignity
and all aspects of her well-being physical, emotional, spiritual
and social.
Through licensed
professionals, the DLC provides these services to the sisters based on
their needs within the continuum: nursing,
clinic services, pastoral
care, mental health, dietary,
rehabilitation, resident
services, transportation, environmental
and maintenance.
Helping
to meet and greet new residents and visitors are Sandy Marquez and Jan
Perry-Anderson. Sandy is an administrative assistant, relating directly
to Rosemary Abramovich, OP, administrator. Additionally, she relates to
the administrative secretaries and receptionists who staff the front desk
of the DLC seven days a week, 365 days a year. Jan is Sister Rosemary's
administrative assistant, and works on finances and special projects.
She also helps sisters with furniture needs, telephones and computers.
